While attending the G.S.S.F. (Glock Shooting Sports Foundation) Ballistic Challenge Match held at Nashua Fish and Game Club in Merrimack, NH this past July, my wife and I had the opportunity to shoot the new Glock 37 (.45 GAP).

We are experienced shooters and the proud owners of a number of different .45 ACP chambered firearms such as, 1911 Colt’s, S&W Model 625 revolvers and Glock models 21, 30 and 36. Each of these firearms has their own distinct character and handle differently but we were both very impressed with the Glock 37.

It had a typical Glock trigger and general feel of a Model 21 but the recoil lies somewhere between the flip of a “hot” 9mm and the heaviness of the 45 ACP.  It is less of a handful than the .40 S&W and much smoother than the Model 36.  In my opinion it's right up there with Glock Models 21 and 30 and a step or two ahead of the Model 36.  It is definitely on our “purchase soon” list.  If you should get the opportunity to try one do yourself a favor, take it.
